Phenibut is a phenyl derivative of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and phenylethylamine - amino-phenylbutyric acid hydrochloride. By enhancing inhibitory GABAergic processes, it affects the functional state by normalizing metabolism and influencing cerebral circulation by increasing blood flow speed and reducing vascular tone. It has a pronounced stress-correcting effect, ensures the normalization of excitation and inhibition processes in the central nervous system. Phenibut is also used to prevent kinetosis (motion sickness syndrome). A complex of extracts of medicinal plant raw materials enhances the calming effect of the drug, helps reduce excessive stress, fear, improve recovery and adaptive processes, and increase resistance to the effects of adverse environmental factors. In terms of the degree of impact on the body, the drug is classified as a low-hazard substance; in recommended doses it does not have a mutagenic, carcinogenic or sensitizing effect. Indications for use The drug is used in dogs and puppies to reduce agitation and correct psychogenic behavioral disorders due to stress, phobias, aggression for no apparent reason and increased sexual arousal (simultaneously with contraceptives). The drug is used to improve the recovery and adaptive processes of the animal body, increasing resistance to the effects of adverse environmental factors. It is also used to prevent kinetosis (motion sickness syndrome). Directions for use and doses Administered orally to dogs and puppies forcibly into the root of the tongue, into the cheek pouch or with a small amount of treats, taking into account the body weight, nervous state and degree of excitement of the animal, in daily doses: dogs (adult animals) – 2 drops (0.1 ml) of the drug (equivalent to 10 mg of phenibut) per 1 kg of animal body weight; puppies – 1 drop (0.05 ml) of the drug (equivalent to 5 mg of phenibut) per 1 kg of animal body weight. The daily dose is divided into two doses and given to the animal in the morning and evening. The course of use of the drug is 15-20 days. For signs of excessive arousal, psychogenic behavioral disorders (aggression, fear) - hyperactivity, excessive vocalization (barking), increased sexual activity, marking the room with urine, the course of treatment can be extended to 4 weeks. In case of repeated manifestations of behavioral disorders in animals, the course of use of the drug is repeated in the same doses according to the same scheme. In order to prevent stress (transportation, arrival of guests, change of environment, departure of the owner, intensive training, participation in exhibitions and competitions), the drug is used 3-5 days before the intended event and for 1-4 days after its end. To prevent motion sickness, it is prescribed once in the above doses 1-2 hours before the expected start of transportation of the animal. If there are severe symptoms of motion sickness (vomiting), taking the drug is ineffective. To correct behavior with increased sexual activity, the drug is used in doses together with contraceptives. The duration of treatment depends on the individual sensitivity of the animal and the degree of its excitement.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug (including a history). Do not use in animals with disorders of the genitourinary system, cancer or diabetes. Do not use the drug for pregnant or lactating females. Warning In rare cases, when taking the drug for the first time, the animal may experience drowsiness or agitation, irritability, nausea, and allergic reactions. The use of the drug is stopped and symptomatic and desensitizing therapy is prescribed. When used simultaneously with tranquilizers, neuroleptics and anticonvulsants, the drug enhances and prolongs the effect of the latter. In rare cases, some animals may experience drowsiness or agitation, irritability, nausea, and allergic reactions. In such cases, the use of the drug is stopped and symptomatic and desensitizing therapy is prescribed. Recommended doses should be followed. Release form Polymer or glass bottles of 10 or 15 ml, placed in cardboard packs with a dosing syringe.
