Albendazole-250 Beef Flavored Tablets
Composition.
1 tablet (0.5 g) contains the active substance: albendazole 250 mg.
Production form
Blisters:
10 tablets of 0.5 g
Pharmacological properties
Albendazole belongs to the group of benzimidazoles that inhibit the polymerization of tubulin into microtubules, which leads to impaired absorption and intracellular transport of nutrients and metabolic substances (adenosine triphosphoric acid and glucose), as well as mitochondrial reactions by inhibiting fumarate reductase, which leads to the death of parasites.
After oral administration, albendazole is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract.
The bioavailability of albendazole is low. The time to reach the peak concentration of albendazole sulfoxide is 2-5 hours. It binds to plasma proteins by 70%.
It is excreted in the bile as an active metabolite of albendazole sulfoxide, and only a small amount is excreted in the urine.
