🚑 ANTILACT is used in bitches and cats to interrupt lactation in accordance with clinical indications (e.g. during early weaning of puppies and kittens) and to terminate false pregnancy.
COMPOSITION :
1 ml of the drug contains the active substance:
cabergoline - 50 mcg.
Excipients: propylene glycol, dicaprylate/dicaprate.

🍀 The drug's cabergoline, an ergoline derivative, acts as an agonist of dopamine receptors, which leads to the inhibition of the secretion of prolactin, the main hormone of lactogenesis, by the pituitary gland. A decrease in prolactin levels prevents lactation and contributes to the disappearance of clinical symptoms of phantom pregnancy in bitches and cats.
After oral administration, the maximum inhibition of prolactin secretion is achieved after 4-8 hours and lasts for several days, depending depending on the dose.
Cabergoline is excreted from the body in the form of metabolites, mainly in feces (60%) and to a lesser extent in urine (22%).
DOSAGE:
🟢 Drug used orally with food or directly on the root of the tongue at a dose of 0.1 ml (3 drops, corresponding to 5 μg of cabergoline per kg of body weight) per 1 kg of the animal's body weight once a day for 4-6 days.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
⚠️ Do not use in case of hypersensitivity of the animal to cabergoline.
⚠️ Do not use in pregnant bitches and cats.
⚠️ Do not use in lactating females during the period of feeding their offspring.
⚠️ Do not administer to animals with renal or hepatic impairment.
⚠️ Do not administer to animals with hypotension.
SIDE EFFECTS:
Well tolerated in recommended doses. In the first two days of taking the drug, side effects such as vomiting, anorexia, lethargy are rarely possible, which disappear spontaneously and do not require discontinuation of the drug. In case of persistent vomiting, the drug is canceled.
Very rarely, in animals sensitive to ergoline derivatives, allergic reactions in the form of itching, edema, dermatitis and urticaria are possible, which disappear after discontinuation of the drug and use of the drug. in antihistamines.
WARNING:
Do not use with dopamine antagonists (e.g. metoclopramide) or with antihypertensive drugs.
If one or more doses of the drug are missed, treatment should be resumed as soon as possible in the planned dose and according to the schedule.
