🐕 ASTROMYCIN for injection 🐈
🚑 Treatment of infections:
🔹 respiratory tract - tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis media, bronchitis;
🔹 skin and soft tissue infections - rosea, impetigo (superficial pustular skin lesions with formation of purulent scabs), secondary infected dermatoses (skin diseases);
🔹 urinary tract infections.
Composition: 1.0 ml of the medicine contains azithromycin -100.0 mg
🟢 Dosage and method of administration:
Azithromycin 10% is used in dogs and cats for the treatment of infections of mixed aetiology at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg body weight (10 mg/kg depending on the active substance) - once every 72-96 hours intramuscularly.
Contraindications:
Increased susceptibility to macrolide antibiotics.
Drug interactions:
Incompatible with heparin.
Side effects:
Vomiting and bloating (accumulation of gas in the intestines).
🍀 Pharmacological effect:
Broad-spectrum antibiotic. Exhibits not only high antimicrobial activity, but also anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, as well as low toxicity. Gram-positive granulomas are sensitive to azithromycin: Streptococcus pneumoniae, St. pyogenes, St. agalactiae, group CF and G streptococci, Staphylococcus aureus, St. viridans; Gram-negative bacteria: Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Bordetella pertussis, B. parapertussis, Legionella pneumophila, H. ducrei, Campylobacter jejuni, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Gardnerella vaginalis; some anaerobic microorganisms: Bacteroides bivius, Clostridium perfringens, Peptostreptococcus spp; also Chlamydia trachomatis, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, Ureaplasma urealyticum, Treponema pallidum, Borrelia burgdoferi.
Pharmacokinetics:
Azithromycin penetrates well into the respiratory tract, genitourinary organs and tissues, skin and soft tissues. It remains at bactericidal concentrations in the focus of inflammation for 5-7 days.
