Description
White to yellowish suspension. The suspension separates during storage.
Composition
1 ml of the preparation contains the active substance:
Toltrazuril - 50 mg.
Excipients: sodium propionate, sodium benzoate, sodium docusate, xanthan gum, propylene glycol, citric acid, simethicone emulsion, bentonite, purified water.
Pharmacological properties
ATCvet QP51, antiprotozoal veterinary drugs (QP51AJ01, toltrazuril)
The active substance of the preparation toltrazuril (symmetrical triazinetrione) is an effective eimeriostatic. Toltrazuril disrupts the intracellular stages of eimeria development, affecting the schizont, micro- and macrogametes. It disrupts the process of eimeria nuclear division and reduces the activity of mitochondria, which are responsible for respiratory metabolism.
After oral administration of the drug, toltrazuril is slowly absorbed in the digestive tract of animals (bioavailability is 70%). In the body of animals, toltrazuril is partially metabolized with the formation of sulfoxide and sulfone derivatives. Subsequently, it is almost completely excreted in feces unchanged or in the form of toltrazuril sulfone or toltrazuril sulfoxide.
The drug has no mutagenic, carcinogenic or teratogenic effect.
Indications for use
Prevention and treatment of young pigs and cattle with eimeriosis caused by eimeria sensitive to toltrazuril:
in piglets: Isospora suis, Eimeria arloingi, E. scabra, E. guevarai;
in calves: Eimeria bovis, E. zuernii, E. alabamensis;
in dogs: Sarcocystis bovicanis, S. ovicanis, S. suicanis.
Method of administration
The preparation is used for piglets and young cattle up to 9 months of age orally, individually, once using a special dispenser in doses:
- piglets - on the 3rd-5th day of life at a dose of 0.4 ml per 1 kg of body weight (equivalent to 20 mg toltrazuril / 1 kg of body weight), but not less than 0.5 ml and not more than 2 ml per animal;
- calves - from two weeks of age at a dose of 3 ml per 10 kg of body weight (equivalent to 15 mg toltrazuril / 1 kg of body weight).
To achieve the maximum prophylactic effect and reduce the number of oocysts that are released into the environment, in farms unfavorable for eimeriosis, the preparation must be administered to animals before the appearance of clinical signs of the disease - during the incubation period.
- dogs (puppies) with sarcocystosis: 0.2 ml of the drug per 1 kg of body weight of the animal (10 mg of toltrazuril per 1 kg of body weight of the animal) once a day for 3 days.
Before use, shake the bottle with the suspension thoroughly and give it to the dogs orally, mixing it with a small portion of food.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to toltrazuril.
The drug is not used in animals during pregnancy and lactation.
The drug is not used in ruminants with developed rumen digestion.
Do not use in animals with impaired renal and hepatic function.

Warning
Slaughter of pigs for meat is allowed after 77 days, cattle - after 63 days after the last use of the drug. Meat received before the specified period is disposed of or fed to non-productive animals, depending on the conclusion of the veterinarian.
