🍀 Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic. Its mechanism of action is to disrupt bacterial protein synthesis (gentamicin binds to the 30S subunit, which results in the formation of a protein with an incorrect amino acid sequence). Gentamicin has a bactericidal effect on some gram-positive and most gram-negative bacteria (E. coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp. and Serratia spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Pascemaulus) hiodysenteriae spp.).
The drug is rapidly absorbed from the site of administration. The therapeutic concentration of gentamicin is maintained in the body for 6 to 10 hours. It is excreted unchanged, mainly in urine.

Hypersensitivity to gentamicin sulfate.
Gentamicin sulfate must not be mixed in one syringe with heparin, B vitamins, penicillins, cephalosporins, erythromycin, sulfonamides.
