Pharmacological properties
Glucose is one of the most easily absorbed sugars. It is well absorbed into the blood, and its excess enters the liver and muscles, where it is converted into glycogen. In the body, it breaks down with the formation of energy, which provides heat, the work of muscles and other tissues. Glucose also stimulates the synthesis of hormones and enzymes in the body of animals, increases the body's defenses. When using an isotonic solution, the body is replenished with liquid and easily digestible, valuable, nutritious material.
Application
Toxic infections, infectious diseases, various intoxications (poisoning by drugs, hydrocyanic acid and its salts, carbon monoxide, aniline, hydrogen arsenic and other substances), liver diseases (hepatitis, cirrhosis, liver dystrophy and atrophy), decompensation of the heart, hemorrhagic diatheses and many other pathological conditions. In ruminants, it is prescribed for gastrointestinal diseases with intoxication, hypotonia, atony of the antrum, as well as for acetonemia, postpartum hemoglobinuria, ketonuria, and toxemia. The drug is a component of various blood substitutes, anti-shock and rehydration fluids, a solvent for drugs when administered to reduce their toxic effects. Glucose solutions are prescribed to weak and exhausted animals as an energy and dietary supplement.
Dosage
Isotonic (5%) glucose solution is used subcutaneously and intravenously, in the following doses (ml per animal):
cattle - 600-3000;
for horses - 600-2400;
for sheep and goats - 100-600;
for pigs - 200-600;
for dogs - 50-500;
for cats - 25-250.
The volume of the dose and the terms of use depend on the weight of the animal and the course of the disease.

Storage
In a dry, dark place at a temperature from 0 °C to 25 °C.
The shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
