🚑 Treatment of dogs and cats in the field of mycosis and dermatophytosis, fungi, lichens caused by:
🔹 Trichophyton verrucosum
🔹 Trichophyton mentagrophytes
🔹 Trichophyton equinum
🔹 Microsporum canis
🔹 Microsporum gypseum
🔹 Candida spp.
🔹 Malassezia spp.
🔹 Aspergillus spp.
🟢 DOSAGES AND METHOD OF USE:
The drug is administered orally (mainly on an empty stomach) at a dose of 5-10 mg itraconazole per 1 kg of body weight, once a day.
The drug, adult cats and kittens can also be given with food
🟢 Duration of treatment options:
1. Mild form of the disease - treatment of cats and dogs is carried out in three 7-day courses with a break of 7 days between them (total 21 doses).
2. Medium and complex form of the disease - cats and dogs after the first 7-day course can be given for another 20 days every other day (total 17 doses).
In difficult cases, if the course of treatment brings positive results, it can be extended until full recovery under the supervision of a veterinarian.
⚠ Contraindication:
Do not use in animals with hypersensitivity to the active substance of the drug, impaired liver and kidney function, pregnant and lactating animals, cats and dogs under 2 months of age
⚠ Precautions for use:
Dogs and cats tolerate itraconazole better than ketoconazole. Side effects are rarely observed. However, some dogs may experience hepatotoxicity, erythema, vasculitis and limb edema, and cats may experience gastrointestinal disorders (anorexia, weight loss, vomiting), hepatotoxicity and depression.
In the event of severe side effects, treatment should be discontinued and a maintenance treatment cycle should be prescribed.
Animals with unsatisfactory general condition that have additional diseases require more careful supervision during treatment.
Cats and dogs with heart disease should be examined and treatment should be discontinued if clinical symptoms worsen.
It is recommended to disinfect with PARVO-VIRUCID solution and clean the places where animals stay during and after treatment.
Concomitant use of the drug with antacids, rifampicin significantly reduces its effectiveness. Do not use together with other drugs without consulting a veterinarian.
