✅ Pharmacological properties:
ATSvet QJ01, antibacterial veterinary drugs for systemic use (QJ01FF52, lincomycin, combinations).
Lincomycin is an antibiotic from the lincosamide group. Depending on the concentration, it acts bacteriostatic or bactericidal. Inhibits the synthesis of microbial cellular proteins at the level of the 50S ribosomal subunit. Active against most Gram-positive microorganisms (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium spp.), as well as Mycoplasma spp.
After parenteral administration, lincomycin is rapidly distributed in tissues and body fluids, reaching high concentrations in bone tissue, bile and urine. It crosses the placenta, passes into milk. Binding of lincomycin to plasma proteins decreases with increasing concentration. The half-life is usually 4-6 hours. However, it may be prolonged in cases of impaired liver and/or kidney function. The time to reach the maximum concentration in blood plasma after intramuscular administration is 0.5 hours. Excreted in urine and bile. After intramuscular administration, 10-47% of lincomycin is excreted unchanged in urine within 24 hours. Spectinomycin is an antibiotic from the aminoglycoside group. It inhibits the synthesis of microbial cell proteins at the level of the 30S ribosomal subunit. Active mainly against Gram-negative (E. coli., Pasteurella multocida, Salmonella spp., Clostridium spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Haemophilus spp., Vibrio spp.), as well as some Gram-positive microorganisms and Mycoplasma spp.
After intramuscular administration, spectinomycin quickly enters the blood and penetrates almost all organs and tissues. It does not bind to plasma proteins. Maximum concentration is reached within 1 hour. The therapeutic concentration is maintained for 8 hours. The elimination half-life is 1 hour, complete elimination after 48 hours. Through the kidneys, 75% of spectinomycin is excreted unchanged.
The combination of lincomycin and spectinomycin has a synergistic effect, which enhances the effect of antibiotics and expands the spectrum of antimicrobial action of the drug. When administered parenterally, the maximum concentration of the drug in the blood is reached after 40-60 minutes and lasts for 3-6 hours. It is excreted from the body unchanged mainly in urine and feces.
