🐕 OTIGEL 🐈 Analog Oridermyl
🚑 The drug is intended for the treatment of dogs and cats suffering from OTODECTOSIS, inflammation of the ear and skin of the external auditory canal, caused by bacteria, fungi and mites sensitive to neomycin, permethrin and nystatin.
🟢 Procedure for using the drug:
Before using the drug, it is necessary to hygienically process the auricle and external auditory canal.
To use Otigel, it is necessary to attach a soft nozzle to the aluminum tube. A small amount of the drug (the size of a pea) is introduced into the ear canal, then gently massaged at the base of the ear. Remove excess drug from the auricle.
🔹 Otigel is used once a day for 10 days.
If necessary, the course of treatment should be repeated.
🔸 The drug should be injected into both ears, even if one ear is sick.
⚠️ The drug is contraindicated for use in animals with increased sensitivity to the components of the drug, as well as with perforation of the eardrum. Do not use in cats weighing less than 1.5 kg and in kittens under 8 weeks of age
⚠️ Precautions:
🔸 During the use of the drug, do not allow the animal to approach small children and other animals.
🔸 Before using the drug, the integrity of the eardrum should be checked.
🔸 After the procedure, mild and moderate redness of the ears may occur, which does not require the use of specific therapy.
🔸 In some cases, hearing impairment was found, as a rule, temporarily and mainly in older animals.
🔸 In cats, clinical neurological symptoms such as ataxia and tremor may very rarely occur. In such a case, treatment should be discontinued. These symptoms disappear after discontinuation of the drug.
🟢 Composition of the drug:
1 g of the drug contains active substances:
🔹 permethrin 10 mg; 🔹 trimcinolone acetonide 1 mg;
🔹 neomycin sulfate 3500 IU;
🔹 nystatin 100,000 IU
Excipients: polyethylene wax, mineral oil.
🟢 Pharmacological properties:
Otigel is an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antiparasitic and antifungal drug in the form of a gel for external use.
🔹 Neomycin sulfate is a compound from the aminoglycoside group, which has antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and some Gram-negative microorganisms: Staph. albus staphylococcus aureus; E coli; Odmiec; Corynebacterium pyogenes; Pseudomonas.
🔹 Nystatin is a compound from the polyene group. Depending on the concentration, it has fungistatic and fungicidal effects. The mechanism of action is based on damaging the cell membrane of fungi. Nystatin works on: Candida spp., Cryptococcus spp., Histoplasma spp., Blastomyces spp., Trichophyton spp., Epidermophyton spp. Pityrosporum canis.
🔹 Triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid, has anti-inflammatory effects, the mechanism of which is based on the inhibition of phospholipase.
🔹 Permethrin is a synthetic pyrethroid type 1, which has acaricidal and insecticidal properties. It disrupts sodium channels and blocks the transmission of nerve impulses in insects. Otodectes cynotis ticks are particularly sensitive to permethrin.
