An oily liquid from yellowish to yellow-brown in color with a specific smell of the components. Slight sediment is allowed during storage.
Composition
1 ml of the drug contains active substances: fipronil - 100.0 mg; ivermectin - 15.0 mg; pyriproxyfen - 20.0 mg.
Excipients: dimethylsulfoxide, benzyl alcohol, glyceroformal.
Pharmacological properties
ATCvet QP53A, ectoparasiticides for local use with insecticides.
The drug has a pronounced insecto-acaricidal effect against larval and adult forms of the development of fleas, lice, hair eaters, ixod and sarcoptoid ticks, intestinal nematodes and heartworm larvae of dogs.
PerFect® TRIO drops are a combined drug that includes fipronil, ivermectin and pyriproxyfen.
Fipronil is 5-amino-1-[2,6-dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-4-[(trifluoromethyl)sulfinyl]-1H-pyrazole-3-carbonitrile, a phenylpyrazole derivative with insecticidal and acaricidal action.
Fipronil disrupts the passage of chlorine ions in GABA - dependent receptors of ectoparasites, the transmission of nerve impulses and the activity of the nervous system, causing the death of arthropods. Does not affect the central nervous system of mammals. After application to the skin, fipronil accumulates in the epidermis, hair follicles and sebaceous glands of the animal and has a long-lasting contact insect-acaricidal effect. After applying the drug, fipronil is distributed over the body surface within 24 hours.
Ivermectin belongs to the chemical group of macrocyclic lactones. The pharmacological effect of ivermectin consists in the blockade of nerve or neuromuscular transmission by affecting γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), as a result of which the transmission of nerve impulses of ectoparasites and nematodes is disturbed, which leads to their paralysis and death.
Pyriproxyfen is an analogue of natural juvenile hormones, which, disrupting the processes of chitin synthesis and larval molting, prevents the development of full-fledged pupae and causes the death of insects in the pre-imaginal phases of development, which leads to the cessation of population replenishment at the egg and larval stages.
When applied to the skin in the recommended doses, there is no local irritant and resorptive-toxic effect, when it gets into the eyes it causes irritation. The drug is toxic to fish and bees.
Indications for use
Prevention and treatment of dogs affected by ecto- and endoparasites: fleas (Ctenocephalides spp., Pulex irritans); lice (Linognathus setosus); vlasivores (Trichodectes canis, Felicola subrostratus); mosquitoes of three genera: the Aedes biter, the common Culex mosquito, and the Anopheles malaria mosquito); Ixodes ticks (Ixodes spp., Dermacentor spp., Haemaphysalis spp., Rhipicephalus spp., Boophilus calcaratus) in the imaginal, nymphal and larval stages of development; acariform mites (Otodectes cynotis, Notoedres cati, Sarcoptes canis and Cheyletiella spp.); trombidiform ticks (Demodex canis, D. gatoi, D. felis); nematodes of the digestive tract (Toxocara spp., Toxascaris spp., Trichuris vulpis, Uncinaria stenocephala and Ancylostoma spp.); larvae (microfilariae stage L3 and L4) of Dirofilaria immitis and Dirofilaria repens.
Method of application
The drug is prescribed once to adult dogs and puppies from the age of 3 months and body weight over 2 kg.
The drug is applied to the dry, undamaged skin of animals: in dogs, between the shoulder blades and along the spine, and in the case of an ear mite of the Otodectes cynotis species, to the skin of the auricle. To apply the drug, it is necessary to cut off the tip of the pipette and separate the fur of the animal so that there is skin, press the tip of the pipette to the skin and press the pipette several times to apply the entire content to the skin.
The doses of the drug are:
dogs with a body weight of up to 4 kg - 1 pipette of 0.6 ml of the drug;
dogs with a body weight from 4 to 10 kg - 1 pipette of 0.8 ml of the drug;
dogs with a body weight of 10 to 20 kg - 1 pipette of 1.6 ml of the drug;
dogs weighing 20 to 40 kg - a combination of 0.8 and 1.6 ml pipettes or a 2.5 ml pipette;
dogs with a body weight of more than 40 kg - 2 pipettes of 1.6 ml of the drug or a pipette with a volume of 4.0 ml of the drug.
When animals are affected by ixodid ticks, the drug is applied in a dose of 1 drop directly to the tick and the place of its attachment to the skin. If the tick does not fall off spontaneously within 20 minutes, it is carefully removed with tweezers.
For the treatment of sarcoptosis, demodicosis and notohedrosis, the drug is used 2-4 times with an interval of 7-10 days; for preventive purposes - once a month. Treatment is recommended to be carried out in combination with the use of etiotropic, pathogenetic and symptomatic agents.
When treating large dogs, the drug is applied to the skin in 3-4 places.
For the treatment of otodectosis (ear scabies), PerFect® TRIO drops are used once. In the course of treatment, it is recommended to clean the auditory canal from exudate and scabs, and in case of otitis complications, to prescribe antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory drugs. If necessary, the course of treatment is repeated.
The duration of the protective effect of the drug after a single treatment of the animal is preserved against ticks in dogs for up to 30 days, against insects in dogs - up to 2
months
Repeated treatment of animals with the drug during the season of parasite activity is recommended according to indications, but not more often than once a month. In order to prevent re-infestation of animals with fleas, litters are replaced or they are treated with an insecticide according to the instructions for use.
