The drug contains chlorhexidine bigluconate as the main active ingredient, a universal antimicrobial and antifungal agent. Chlorhexidine is active against gram-positive (Staphylococcus sp., Streptococcus sp., Mycobacterium sp., Corynebacterium xerosis, Micrococcus sp., Sarcina lutea, Clostridium sp., Bacillus subtilus) and gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli, Salmonella sp., Shigella sp., Klebsiella sp., Enterobacter sp., Serratia marcescens, Providencia sp., Proteus sp., Pseudomonas sp., Neisseria sp.), as well as yeast (Candida sp.), dermatophytes (Dermatophytes, Microsporum, Trichophyton, Trichoderma), lipophilic viruses, chlamydia. Does not cause microflora addiction.

It is used for all skin diseases involving bacterial and fungal microflora (staphylococcosis, all types of pyoderma, impetiginous eczema, candidiasis, trichophytosis, microsporia, seborrhea, external otitis, purulent wounds and superficial abscesses, burns)

Description
White ointment with a characteristic odor.

Composition
1 g of the preparation contains:

10 mg of chlorhexidine bigluconate,

auxiliary and formative substances up to 1 gram.

Pharmacological properties
It has a pronounced antiseptic effect. Its components are effective against vegetative forms of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as yeast, dermatophytes, lipophilic viruses, chlamydia. In addition, the drug has anti-inflammatory, astringent, local analgesic effects. Due to its hypertonicity, the ointment "Unisan" increases exudation, accelerates the course of purulent inflammatory processes, promotes the cleansing and healing of infected wounds. The trace element zinc, which is part of the ointment, is indispensable for the normal functioning of the skin.

Application
Unisan ointment is used for all skin diseases where bacterial and fungal microflora are suspected:

Staphylococcosis of the skin
Pyoderma (all types)
Impetiginous eczema
Candidosis of the skin (thrush)
Dermatomycosis (trichophytosis, microsporia)
Seborrhea
External otitis
Purulent wounds and superficial abscesses
Burns
The preparation is applied to the damaged areas of the skin in a thin layer 1-2 times a day. The duration of use is determined by the type of pathological process. In any case, it is necessary to use the ointment for at least 2-3 days after the disappearance of clinical signs of the disease. For fungal diseases, the preparation is applied for 7-10 days after the disappearance of clinical signs of the disease.

For purulent wounds and abscesses, gauze napkins are soaked in ointment, which are used to fill the wound or abscess cavity. Dressings are carried out every day until complete cleansing from purulent-necrotic masses. The ointment is injected into deep cavities in a heated form using a syringe (without a needle).

Contraindications
Individual intolerance.

Avoid contact of the ointment with the mucous membrane of the eyes.

Caution
Simultaneous use of iodine preparations is undesirable in order to avoid the development of dermatitis.

Storage conditions
In a place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25ºС.
