Pharmacological properties
Imidocarb dipropionate is an icarbanilide derivative that provides a broad spectrum of antiprotozoal action against pathogens causing piroplasmosis in mono- or mixed invasions - babesia Babesia bovis, B. bigemina, B. сolchica (Francaiella colchica), B. divergens, B. ovis, B. motasi, B. caballi, B. еqui (Nuttallia equi), B. canis, B. gibsonii, B. vogeli, theileria Theileria annulata, T. sergenti, T. mutans, T. orientalis, T. ovis, T. recondita, T. hirci, T. tarandirangiferis, rickettsia from the genus of anoplasms Anaplasma marginale, A. centrale, A. ovis, A. phagocytophilum and the genus Ehrlichia canis, E. chaffeensis.

The mechanism of antiprotozoal action is based on inhibition of the process of aerobic glucose metabolism and DNA synthesis in piroplasms, which causes their death in the future.

After parenteral administration, the drug is rapidly absorbed and reaches its maximum concentration in the blood after 1-2 hours, the therapeutic concentration is maintained for 4-6 weeks.

It is metabolized to a small extent, accumulates mainly in the kidneys and liver, and is excreted from the body mainly with feces, and to a lesser extent with urine.

Imidocarb dipropionate, according to the degree of its effect on the body, is classified as a moderately hazardous substance (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).

Indications
Treatment and prevention of cloven-hoofed ruminants (cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats, zebu, mouflon, fallow deer, camels) with babesiosis, theileriosis, anaplasmosis and mixed invasions; odd-toed farm animals (horses, mules, donkeys) - with babesiosis, anaplasmosis and mixed invasions; dogs - with acute, chronic, subclinical and atypical babesiosis, ehrlichiosis, anaplasmosis and mixed invasions.

Chemoprophylaxis of babesiosis - administration of the drug immediately after detection of an embedded tick and to animals from the risk group (hunting dogs).

Contraindications
Do not administer to animals sensitive to the active substance of the drug.

Do not use simultaneously with organochlorine and organophosphorus preparations, as well as with cholinesterase inhibitors.

Do not use within 4 weeks after vaccination with a live vaccine against babesiosis or anaplasmosis.

Method of administration and dosage
Shake the bottle with the preparation thoroughly before use.

Treatment and prevention:
• Cattle, buffalo, zebu, camels (subcutaneously, single dose), dose per 100 kg of body weight:

– babesiosis — 2 ml;

– anaplasmosis, mixed infestations — 2.5 ml;

– prevention — 2 ml;

• Sheep, goats, mouflons, fallow deer (intramuscularly, single dose):

– babesiosis, anaplasmosis — 0.2 ml per 10 kg of body weight;

• horses, mules, donkeys (intramuscular):

– Babesia caballi — 2 ml per 100 kg of body weight, course — 2 injections with an interval of 24 hours;

– Babesia equi (Nuttallia equi) — 3 ml per 100 kg of body weight, course — 4 injections with an interval of 3 days;

• dogs (subcutaneously or intramuscularly): babesiosis — 0.3-0.5 ml per 10 kg of body weight, if necessary, repeat at a dose of 0.2 ml per 10 kg of body weight after 14 days.

When keeping animals in groups and detecting blood parasitic diseases, the drug is administered to the entire herd in a prophylactic dose, for cattle the injection is repeated after 6 weeks, for animals of other species — after 4 weeks. The protective effect of the drug lasts 14-21 days after administration.

Warnings
In recommended doses, it does not cause local irritation, does not exhibit cumulative, embryotoxic or mutagenic properties.

However, in case of mass death of parasites and destruction of red blood cells in animals, intoxication is possible. In such cases, intensive therapy with infusion agents, hepatoprotectors, symptomatic and antihistamine drugs is required.

To avoid a painful reaction, do not administer more than 10 ml of the drug to large animals in one place, or more than 2 ml to small animals.

In case of clinical signs of babesiosis, it is advisable to use antihistamines before administering the drug.

After the last use of the drug, slaughter of cattle, horses and sheep for meat is allowed after 110 days, and milk can be consumed by humans after 7 days. Meat obtained before the specified period is fed to fur animals, milk after boiling is given to animals to drink. Milk from dairy sheep that have been injected with the drug at least once is prohibited for human consumption.

Storage conditions
In a dry, ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight, inaccessible to children and animals, separate from food and feed at a temperature of +5 to +25 °C.

After opening the bottle, store the drug in the refrigerator and use within 30 days.
