Anti-itch spray, 30 ml, for cats and dogs Description The solution is colorless to yellow with slight opalescence with a specific odor of the components, slight sediment is allowed. Compound 1 ml of the drug contains the active ingredient: triamcinolone – 0.5 mg, chloramphenicol – 5.0 mg, metronidazole – 10.0 mg, lidocaine hydrochloride – 50.0 mg. Excipients: isopropyl alcohol, dimethyl sulfoxide, hydroalcoholic calendula extract, flavoring, polyethylene glycol. Pharmacological properties The anti-inflammatory, antiallergic, analgesic and bactericidal effect of the drug is due to the properties of the components that make up the drug. The glucocorticoid triamcinolone has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, antiallergic and desensitizing effect. The mechanism of its action is to block the release of inflammatory mediators by eosinophils, including prostaglandins, which potentiate the inflammatory process, reduce the number of mast cells that produce hyaluronic acid, and reduce capillary permeability. Lidocaine has a local anesthetic effect and helps to more quickly relieve the inflammatory and allergic reaction. Chloramphenicol and metronidazole have a bactericidal effect and affect most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as fungal infections. Calendula extract has bactericidal and anti-inflammatory properties, accelerates tissue regeneration and wound healing. The complex of biologically active substances included in the spray promotes the effective treatment of inflammatory and allergic skin reactions, as well as otitis media in dogs and cats. The drug in recommended doses does not have a local irritant, allergenic or sensitizing effect. Indications for use The drug is used in cats and dogs for the treatment of acute and chronic otitis and dermatitis of allergic or inflammatory etiology, complicated by primary or secondary bacterial infection: urticaria, atopic dermatitis, eczema, diffuse neurodermatitis, alopecia, scratching, reactions to insect bites or other parasites. Directions for use and doses The drug is used externally. When treating dermatitis in cats and dogs, the spray is applied to the affected surfaces after their preliminary sanitary treatment 2 times a day. The spray is sprayed in a thin layer for 5-10 days until clinical recovery. Before use, shake the bottle with the drug for 20-30 seconds and, holding it vertically, press the spray head, directing the spray to the affected surface of the animal’s body from a distance of 10-15 cm. When treating otitis in cats and dogs, the external auditory canal is cleaned of scabs and crusts and wiped thoroughly. Before use, the bottle with the drug is thoroughly shaken for 20-30 seconds. The bottle is held vertically and pressed on the spray head, directing the spray into the ear, ensuring it is evenly moistened. Then the auricle is folded in half and its base is massaged. Treatment is carried out 2-3 times a day for 5-7 days. The course of treatment can be extended at the discretion of the veterinary doctor. It is not recommended to skip the next treatment with the drug, as this may lead to a decrease in the effectiveness of treatment. Contraindications Increased individual sensitivity of the animal to any component of the drug (including history). It is not recommended to use the drug for pregnant and lactating animals, puppies and kittens under 8 weeks of age, with diabetes, or with viral diseases. If there is increased individual sensitivity to the drug, its use is stopped and, if necessary, symptomatic drugs are prescribed. Warning It is not recommended to simultaneously use other drugs for external use containing corticosteroid hormones. The drug is compatible with other medications and feed additives. In some animals, with increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, depression, salivation, and gastrointestinal upset are possible. When working with the drug, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety precautions provided for when working with medicinal products for animals.
