COMPOSITION

100 ml of the preparation contain the active ingredients:

benzalkonium chloride - 0.5 g;

allantoin - 0.1 g;

calendula (marigold) tincture - 10.0 g;

tea tree oil - 0.05 g.

Excipients: glycerin, isopropanol, propylene glycol, purified water.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

The effect of the lotion is due to the properties of the complex of active and auxiliary substances. The product has an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, epithelializing effect, has a sedative effect, eliminates itching.

BENZALKONIUM CHLORIDE - has a wide range of antimicrobial activity and bactericidal properties. Benzalkonium chloride is an antiseptic from the group of quaternary ammonium compounds.

Acts as a cationic detergent. Due to its emulsifying properties, it depolarizes the cytoplasmic membranes of microorganisms and, therefore, increases their permeability. Due to this, it acts as a bactericide on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as on Candida albicans.

CALENDULA TINCTURE (TINCTURA CALENDULAE) - biologically active substances contained in calendula flowers (flavonoid and carotenoid glycosides, saponins, tannins, essential oil, organic acids) have an antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect.

TEA TREE OIL - a natural plant essential oil containing more than 100 different components, the most important of which are 1,8-cineole; terpinenes, terpinen-4-ol. The most important active component of the oil is considered to be natural terpinen-4-ol, which determines the antiseptic effect of the oil.

Terpinen-4-ol, isolated from tea tree oil, is virtually non-irritating to the skin. Tea tree oil inhibits the growth of microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus beta haemolyticus, Ps. ae rugіnоsа, C. albicans, Malassezia furfur, Tr. menta grоphуtes and Tr. rubrum, A. niger, P. vulgaris and Legionella pneumophilla. In addition to antimicrobial activity, tea tree oil has an anti-inflammatory effect, promotes skin permeability for biologically active substances. Tea tree oil can stimulate the regeneration of damaged skin, promotes wound epithelialization. When applied to the skin, it is virtually not absorbed into the systemic bloodstream and does not have a general resorptive effect on the body. ALLANTOIN promotes wound healing, has an epithelializing effect and increases the ability of tissues to bind water. In addition, its keratolytic properties and ability to improve permeability increase the effectiveness of other components of the drug.

Allantoin also has a calming effect, softening the itch. Excipients provide fast and effective cleaning, have a softening effect, have a good effect on the condition of the skin of the ears.

INDICATION

The lotion is used as a hygienic product for cleaning the ears of dogs and cats, as well as domestic rabbits. The lotion maintains ear health, removes old dirt and unpleasant odors, reduces the number of dead cells, dries the ear canal. Significantly improves the microflora of the ears. Has a calming effect, eliminates itching. Can be used as an additional remedy before using medications for ear diseases, enhancing and accelerating their effect, ensuring a quick recovery of the animal.

DOSAGE

For hygienic treatment of the ears, a cotton swab is moistened with lotion and wiped inside the ear. In case of significant contamination, the lotion is introduced into the external auditory canal in an amount sufficient to moisten the inner surface of the auricle and the auditory canal (1-5 ml depending on the size of the animal), after which the ear is massaged for 15-30 seconds.

The intensity and duration of the massage depend on the degree of contamination and soreness of the ears. For greater effectiveness, you can leave the product in the ear for 3-5 minutes. Then the mixture of lotion and ear secretion is removed from the ear canal with a cotton swab or napkin. When introducing other products, they should be used 15-20 minutes after treating the ears with lotion. For hygienic cleaning of the ears for otitis, the procedure is carried out 1-2 times a day for 14 days.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the product.

SIDE EFFECTS

The lotion is usually well tolerated, however, some animals with individual sensitivity may develop allergic reactions (skin redness, rash, itching).
