🐕 OXYTOCIN 10ME 🐈
🚑 The drug is used in female pets (dogs, cats) to stimulate or intensify uterine contractions during labor (with uterine hypotension and atony), in the treatment of delayed postpartum labor, as part of complex therapy for metritis to accelerate uterine involution after childbirth, as well as to stimulate milk flow with agalactia; with uterine bleeding; release of the mammary glands from milk or inflammatory exudate in the treatment of mastitis.

🟢 Dosage:
The drug is administered intramuscularly or subcutaneously once in doses:
🔹 dogs - 0.5-1 ml (5-10 ME) per head;
🔹 cats - 0.2-0.3 ml (2-3 ME) per head.

If a faster response is required, it is possible to administer it together with a glucose solution. In this case, the dose of oxytocin is reduced by 30%.
⚠️ Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to oxytocin.
Oxytocin is contraindicated in animals with labor dyscoordination, which arose against the background of incorrect location of the fetus. When oxytocin is administered before delivery, it is necessary to wait for the cervix to relax in the usual way or before the administration of estrogen.

⚠️ Warnings:
Do not use with analogues.
Do not use if the cervix is slightly open or the fetus is in an incorrect position.
Intravenous use of the drug only when necessary and inject very slowly!
The drug should be used with caution (especially when administered intravenously) to animals with pathology of the cardiovascular system due to the possible effect on it (lowering blood pressure), as well as to animals with renal pathology (due to the antidiuretic effect of the drug).
Composition:
1 ml of the drug contains the active substance: oxytocin - 10 ME
Pharmacological properties:
ATCvet QH01, pituitary and hypothalamic hormones (QH01BB02, oxytocin).
Oxytocin, a hypothalamic hormone consisting of a pentapeptide cycle and a side chain of three amino acid residues, accumulates in the posterior lobe of the pituitary gland. It increases the permeability of sodium to the uterine myofibrils, stimulating its contractions. The threshold of uterine contractions caused by oxytocin decreases during pregnancy, when the estrogen level is high or when the animal has already begun labor.
Oxytocin is broken down in the gastrointestinal tract and therefore should be administered parenterally. After administration, the effect of the drug is observed after 3-5 minutes.
Release form:
Glass vials with a capacity of 10; 50 and 100 ml, closed with a rubber stopper for rolling aluminum.
Storage:
Dry, dark place or refrigerator at a temperature of 3 ° C to 12 ° C.
Expiration date - 2 years from the date of production.
For veterinary use!
